MoosBox legal protocol for direct-licensed music

Your secure guide to direct, traceable music licensing, in line with EU Directive 2014/26/EU and the ASCAP Compendium.

MoosBox provides a music service dedicated to public performance in commercial spaces, in accordance with European and international principles on copyright and neighbouring rights.

Our legal coverage is based on direct licences, non-exclusive agreements with independent composers, publishers and producers and, where applicable, on the production of original content through advanced artificial intelligence technologies.

Compliance, AI governance and document security

MoosBox is not just a music provider for commercial spaces: it offers a documented ecosystem based on traceable direct licensing, privacy management, internal AI governance procedures and organisational cybersecurity measures.

Internal documentation relating to GDPR, AI literacy, AI systems management, cybersecurity and verification procedures is not published in full for security and business confidentiality reasons, but may be reviewed, where necessary, in the context of corporate requests, authorised audits or official checks.

Key Points

  • Direct and non-exclusive licence: All tracks streamed through MoosBox are authorised through direct agreements with rights holders, in accordance with EU Directive 2014/26/EU and Section 1.3 of the ASCAP Compendium.
  • Traceability: Original tracks produced by MoosBox with AI are registered through timestamping systems to ensure identification and verifiability.
  • Coverage: Use of the MoosBox service, for content provided by the platform and under the applicable contractual terms, includes public performance and communication-to-the-public rights, without the need for additional licences from collective management organisations for the same content, thereby avoiding double payments.
  • Verification: In case of inspections or claims, the licence and certificates are always available and can be downloaded from the Manager Profile. It is advisable to keep a printed or digital copy easily accessible at the venue.
  • Recognition tools: Recognition apps such as Shazam may identify some tracks because MoosBox also works with artists and producers distributed on public platforms. However, these tools do not constitute legal proof of a lack of coverage, nor do they override contractual documentation, licence certificates and the authorisation chain available in case of verification.
