Frequently Asked Questions

1. If I decide not to continue beyond the trial period, will I be charged anything? Do I need to do anything to cancel the service?

We confirm that at the end of the free trial period, no charges will be made to your account, as we did not request payment details during registration. If you decide not to continue with the service after the trial period, no action is required to cancel. You will simply no longer be able to access the service and use the in-store radio you have set up.

2. If I use MoosBox, do I have to pay other fees?

NO. If you use the MoosBox service, you do not have to pay any additional license fees to any other rights management company. In many countries of the world all rights for background music used with the MoosBox service are already included in the fee, ,but just to be on the safe side, check the situation in your Country.

3. Do you know the difference between COPYRIGHT and OTHER RELATED RIGHTS?

The copyright of a song belongs to the author, who decides how to use, reproduce, or distribute the work. If the author is registered with a collecting society, this society will collect the compensation and distribute it to the author [copyright]. If the artist decides to release the song with a record label, the label becomes the owner of the related rights to the recording of the song [related rights]. If the artist performs the song in public or broadcasts it on radio or TV, they become the owner of the related rights to the performance and dissemination of the work [related rights].

4. If I switch from mainstream music subject to traditional licensing to MoosBox, what should I do?

NOTHING beyond communicating regular termination of previous licenses to other Copyright and Related Collective Management Entities. Nothing is owed to other rights collecting societies or other Collectors for the catalog used through MoosBox, as the songs are not represented by these Collective Management Entities. A release letter is available for download directly from the location player.

5. Can I incur penalties if I have a control if I use MoosBox music?

NO. The music used by MoosBox is managed by an independent Collector. The use of the in-store background music and radio service through MoosBox is inclusive of broadcasting licenses and related rights, so in case of control by other collective rights management societies you will not incur any risk of penalty. Moreover, a release letter useful for this purpose is available in the manager profile. It is understood that the coverage of the broadcasting and related right is valid only by using the MoosBox service.

6. Can I broadcast commercials and commercial announcements of my company with MoosBox?

Absolutely. Ask us how to do it: it\\\\\\\'s really very simple. Your personalized MoosBox in-store radio is already set up to broadcast all the spots you want: you just need to create the press release or upload one you already own. 11. Private or business use?

There are services dedicated exclusively to Consumers and can only be used for private purposes. These are streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, YouTube Music, and Google Play Music. They are only intended for you to listen to music in private. The use of these services by a company can result in a penalty. Business Music Services are services like MoosBox and have an agreement with the music industry, which allows you to legally use music services in public and commercial spaces.

12. What are the differences between commercial and royalty free music?

Commercial music > These are the most famous songs and artists; the ones you also hear on the radio, represented by the majors all over the world. Royalty free music > These are songs and artists that you may not know yet, but not of inferior quality for that. Music has often been created specifically for use by companies and, as a result, is particularly suited to a huge variety of commercial situations and activities. It is important to choose the right musical environment for your business, much more than the famous Artist.

13. Commercial or royalty free? Which one to choose?

There is no doubt that commercial music is cool. But what if you could just stop paying for expensive commercial music copyright licenses and continue to listen to music that is interesting and suitable for your business? What if by doing so, depending on the size of your business, you could save thousands of euros a year? With royalty-free music from our catalog, you don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t need to pay any royalties or related rights when listening to music in a public space. These music royalties are included in the subscription price.

14. What is the difference between \"fully-licenced\" and \"royalty-free\" music?

\\\\\\\"Royalty-free\\\\\\\" and \\\\\\\"fully-licensed\\\\\\\" music are the same thing: both refer to music written and produced by independent artists who have not registered their music with any Performance Rights Organization (PRO), such as SIAE in Italy, BMI in the United States, SGAE in Spain, etc. Since these PROs do not own any rights to the music of the artists used by Moosbox, the only licensing fee you have to pay is included in the MoosBox fee, which makes our service a simpler and more convenient solution than using mainstream famous music. In addition, the music used by MoosBox is created by emerging artists around the world, and by subscribing to our service, you are directly supporting these artists - every time their song is played on our platform, they get paid, through a specific agreement in place with the Collector who manages them.

15. Are public broadcasting rights and related rights included in the fees for the MoosBox service?

YES. All broadcasting and related rights related to the royalty free music catalog are included and it is not necessary to pay other licenses to other management companies.

16. What rights are included in the MoosBox service fees?

Royalty free music rights are included in our fee. Composers and musicians get paid for the music you play in your company through their management companies (so-called RELATED RIGHTS). You have to pay for public broadcasting licenses when you play music in your company, no matter if you play music from a radio, CD player, or an online streaming service like ours.

17. Does MoosBox also pay the music rights?

Yes. As a recognized provider of music for business use, MoosBox also pays the music royalties. Musicians, authors, record companies, etc. they all have the right to pay if you use music in your business. MoosBox pays to archive all songs and to be able to offer a business-oriented music service.

18. How much does the MoosBox fee cost and what is included?

MoosBox is a personalized in-store radio streaming service with royalty free music and personalized commercials, exclusively dedicated to commercial activities and companies. The fee includes all rights for public performance and related rights required by law. Since it is a subscription service, the fee is per month for each location (1 location = 1 access) in which you play the personalized radio in store. The realization of the commercials is not included.

19. What music can I listen to with MoosBox?

MoosBox gives you access to dozens of royalty free music moods created by our team of music experts, or you have the option to create one specifically for your company (ask us how). A soundtrack (the musical mood) is an endless stream of music that is updated daily. A mood has no programming limits and is also perfect for any special occasion (Christmas, Halloween, etc.). to create the sound that best suits your business.

All you need is an internet connection, a device (pc / tablet / smartphone or decoder), an audio system or pre-amplified wifi speakers. This means that if you have a device with an Android operating system prior to version 11.0 you will necessarily have to update it in order to install our app. There are particularly old devices that do not allow the update to version 8.0 of Android: consequently with these devices it will not be possible to install our app. As for the Windows PC operating systems, the service is optimized for versions from 8 onwards. In all previous versions it is not possible to guarantee operation. If you do not want to use your own PC, we can provide you with one of our pre-configured and customized decoders.

27. If I use my own PC, do I need to install any software to receive my personalized radio?

No, to receive the radio it is not strictly necessary to install anything on company PCs, but if you prefer you can download our free APP.
