Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between "fully-licenced" and "royalty-free" music?

"Royalty-free" and "fully-licensed" music are the same thing: both refer to music written and produced by independent artists who have not registered their music with any Performance Rights Organization (PRO), such as SIAE in Italy, BMI in the United States, SGAE in Spain, etc. Since these PROs do not own any rights to the music of the artists used by Moosbox, the only licensing fee you have to pay is included in the MoosBox fee, which makes our service a simpler and more convenient solution than using mainstream famous music. In addition, the music used by MoosBox is created by emerging artists around the world, and by subscribing to our service, you are directly supporting these artists - every time their song is played on our platform, they get paid, through a specific agreement in place with the Collector who manages them.

2. How to continue with our service after the trial period?

At the end of the 14-day free trial, you can confirm the service by adding your preferred payment method among Credit Credit Card, Direct Debit on bank account - SEPA (excluding Banca Unicredit circuit) or PayPal, and confirm your tax information. To add the payment method, log in to the My MoosBox platform, click on "My Account" in the menu on the right, and select "Payment Method." Then, click on "Request to change your payment method" and, in the form that opens, indicate the method you wish to use. Our support team will contact you to help you complete the addition of the payment method and start the subscription. To verify your tax information, go to the "Details" section and ensure all the personal information is correct. If necessary, you can modify them and click on "Save Changes" to confirm

3. If I decide not to continue beyond the trial period, will I be charged anything? Do I need to do anything to cancel the service?

We confirm that at the end of the free trial period, no charges will be made to your account, as we did not request payment details during registration. If you decide not to continue with the service after the trial period, no action is required to cancel. You will simply no longer be able to access the service and use the in-store radio you have set up.

4. If I use MoosBox, do I have to pay other fees?

NO. If you use the MoosBox service, you do not have to pay any additional license fees to any other rights management company. In many countries of the world all rights for background music used with the MoosBox service are already included in the fee, ,but just to be on the safe side, check the situation in your Country.

6. If I switch from mainstream music subject to traditional licensing to MoosBox, what should I do?

NOTHING beyond communicating regular termination of previous licenses to other Copyright and Related Collective Management Entities. Nothing is owed to other rights collecting societies or other Collectors for the catalog used through MoosBox, as the songs are not represented by these Collective Management Entities. A release letter is available for download directly from the location player.

7. Can I download royalty free tracks from MoosBox for use?

NO. The songs are provided by MoosBox under FULLY LICENSED license, i.e. including copyright and related rights, are for exclusive use through our platform to manage background music. It is not possible for any reason to download or use the songs in any other way than indicated.

8. Do you know the difference between COPYRIGHT and OTHER RELATED RIGHTS?

The copyright of a song belongs to the author, who decides how to use, reproduce, or distribute the work. If the author is registered with a collecting society, this society will collect the compensation and distribute it to the author [copyright]. If the artist decides to release the song with a record label, the label becomes the owner of the related rights to the recording of the song [related rights]. If the artist performs the song in public or broadcasts it on radio or TV, they become the owner of the related rights to the performance and dissemination of the work [related rights].

9. Commercial or royalty free? Which one to choose?

There is no doubt that commercial music is cool. But what if you could just stop paying for expensive commercial music copyright licenses and continue to listen to music that is interesting and suitable for your business? What if by doing so, depending on the size of your business, you could save thousands of euros a year? With royalty-free music from our catalog, you don't need to pay any royalties or related rights when listening to music in a public space. These music royalties are included in the subscription price.

Music has often been created specifically for use by companies and, as a result, is particularly suited to a huge variety of commercial situations and activities. It is important to choose the right musical environment for your business, much more than the famous Artist.

A mood has no programming limits and is also perfect for any special occasion (Christmas, Halloween, etc.). to create the sound that best suits your business.

25. What is meant by location?

A location represents a physical place, such as a restaurant, a sales point or an office. Having multiple locations allows you to play different music in different locations or different music in different areas of a single location. Each location needs a dedicated device (PC, smart phone or tablet) to play the music. One device can be connected to one location at a time. You can play the same music in all your locations or select a different mood for each.

A location with several different rooms is a multi-room location. With the standard subscription you have the option of having a single access to which you can connect several devices in cascade (if the configuration is allowed by the devices themselves). If, on the other hand, you need to diversify the music in various rooms in the same location or cascade different devices, you need to activate several accesses. Each access has an additional cost. 29. What hardware do I need to listen to MoosBox in-store radio in a location?

All you need is an internet connection, a device (pc / tablet / smartphone or decoder), an audio system or pre-amplified wifi speakers. Just connect to our portal and / or download our dedicated APP for iOS, Android, Desktop. It is important to know that Google has established that apps and updates loaded on the Android system after August 1, 2018 should only work with a version of Android 11.0 or later. This means that if you have a device with an Android operating system prior to version 11.0 you will necessarily have to update it in order to install our app. There are particularly old devices that do not allow the update to version 8.0 of Android: consequently with these devices it will not be possible to install our app. As for the Windows PC operating systems, the service is optimized for versions from 8 onwards. In all previous versions it is not possible to guarantee operation. If you do not want to use your own PC, we can provide you with one of our pre-configured and customized decoders.

30. If I have more than one location, what is the total cost of the Music Your Brand service?

The cost is obtained by multiplying the fees by the number of sales points, but if you have a location number equal to or greater than 5, we invite you to request a personalized estimate. The fee does NOT include broadcasting rights and related rights.

31. If I use my own PC, do I need to install any software to receive my personalized radio?

No, to receive the radio it is not strictly necessary to install anything on company PCs, but if you prefer you can download our free APP.
